Wezi Chatinkha Mjathu, Umodzi Green Collect (UGC)

Wezi Chatinkha Mjathu is co-founder of Umodzi Green Collect (UGC), working together with founder Natasha Kaphuka. UGC is a Social Enterprise working in waste management and small scale energy production.

Working with women’s groups trained in making a variety of products, UGC produces briquettes, organic manure, organic fertilizer, biogas, and paving blocks from waste products collected from local offices and farms.

Through her work and enterprise, Wezi is decreasing waste, creating energy solutions, and providing jobs and a market for women with specific production skills in Malawi.

Wezi also believes that, by being a successful woman entrepreneur, she is providing inspiration and motivation to other women who may want to follow her lead.
