Chifuniro Kandaya is passionate about driving social-economic transformation in communities using enterprises. At 17, he observed that something was wrong in regard to the economic status of Malawian communities. The country has abundant resources, yet the majority of people live in poverty. So He wrote the British High Commissioner, asking for an education opportunity in the UK in order to be empowered and come back to Malawi and equip people with the knowledge on how to create economic opportunities using locally available resources in their communities. He was given websites links where he could access scholarships. Unfortunately, access to the internet was only for a few elite and he failed to do this.
He was later selected to Chancellor College, a constituent of the University of Malawi where he studied for Bachelors of Arts in Humanities from 2007-2010 where, he launched his first business of selling raw rice to non-residential students and lecturers.
